If your idea of leaving your pets at home while travelling gives you anxiety, Global Paws has good news for you. You can bring your beloved pet to fly overseas with these pet-friendly airlines to provide what you need during your journey.

So, cancel your plan for a pet sitter because travelling with your furry family is possible and accessible.

Even though it can be a rewarding experience, it requires careful planning and consideration to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

This article will cover everything you need about pet-friendly airlines, helping you make informed choices for a stress-free travel experience.

The Rise of Pet-Friendly Airlines: Catering to Canine and Feline Companions

Pet-friendly airlines are increasingly accommodating pets, allowing every pet owner to fly with confidence. As pet travel accommodations have become more popular, these airlines are responding to the demand.

This shift benefits both pet owners and airlines, providing a solution for those who consider their pets family members and need to travel with them. For example, most airlines allow small dogs and cats to fly with their pet owners in the cabin.

What should you look for when choosing an airline?

When selecting a pet-friendly airline, you need to understand the pet policies. There are several key factors to consider, such as:

1. Pet Size Restrictions

Different airlines have varying policies on the size and weight of pets allowed in the cabin and the cargo hold. Your pet must meet these requirements by the airline you pick.

2. Fees

Be aware of the additional costs associated with pet travel. These fees can vary significantly between airlines.

3. Documentation Requirements

Airlines require specific documentation, such as health certificates and vaccination records. Ensure you have all the necessary paperwork ready before your trip.

Crate Training

Familiarise your pet with their travel crate well before the flight to reduce anxiety and make it a safe, comfortable space for them.

Pet Essentials

Pack essential items such as food, water, medications, toys, and a blanket to keep them calm and happy during the flight.

Managing Pet Anxiety

Use calming products like pheromone sprays or anxiety wraps if your pet is prone to stress. Consulting with your vet will help manage your pet's anxiety during travel.
